Obituary

Leslie J. Bartholomew passed away in her home on January 17, 2023. She had lived her entire life in Ketchikan, attending White Cliff School, Main School and Ketchikan High School, graduating in 1967.
Leslie started her careers at Ketchikan Pulp Company as a secretary and bookkeeper, worked as the Head Legal Secretary for Ziegler Law Firm and was the Office Manager at the family owned business of Ireland Transfer and Storage, where she retired when the business was sold. Leslie also enjoyed part time bartending at her favorite places to keep busy.
She was an avid bowler and belonged to many leagues at the Ketchikan bowling alleys and enjoyed attending lots of tournaments over the years. She also played women's softball for many years. She loved to golf and made many trips to courses in other places. Leslie enjoyed traveling and visited many countries. She was a voracious reader of any genres and was that way her whole life.
She belonged to WOTM, Elks Club and Pioneer Igloo #7 and other organizations. She held many offices in some of them. Leslie was proud to be the first woman president of the Alaska Trucker's Association and made many trips to Anchorage for meetings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, ralph and Erma Bartholomew, both of Ketchikan, tow younger brothers, Robert and Samuel, and her beloved Shadow.
She is survived by her brother Ralph of Ketchikan, her sister Janet Bartholomew and Janet's husband, Jim Burnett of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Also by her niece, Kerri Bartholomew, her children Riley and Sky Deal of Ketchikan, and her niece, Regan Rodig, and her children Porter Fannon and Iris Rodig, of Anchorage, Alaska.
