Charles Millard Gore, 90, died Dec. 15, 2015, in Stockton, California.
He was born Sept. 7, 1926, in Ketchikan.
Mr. Gore graduated from Ketchikan High School in 1943 and joined the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific region before mustering out in 1945. He graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Washington in 1951. He moved to Stockton in 1951, and resided there throughout his life.
Mr. Gore worked as a lawyer. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Mr. Gore was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and served as exalted ruler of the Stockton branch in 1975-76.
He enjoyed reading, bridge, social activities, Elks, gardening and fishing.
Mr. Gore was preceded in death by his wife, Jan Gore; sister, Diane “DD” Gore; and son, John Couch.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy (Frank) Murkowski of Wrangell and Palm Desert, California; brother, Bob Gore of Ketchikan; sons, David Gore of Goleta, California, and Richard Gore of London, England; daughter, Julie Ray of Stockton; nieces, Mary Gore Schroder of Anchorage, Anne Gore Hart of Anchorage, Jenny Gore Dwyer of Kenmore, Washington, Lisa Murkowski of Anchorage and Washington, D.C., Eileen Van Wyhe of Fairbanks, and Mary Judson of Fairbanks and Manzanillo, Mexico; and nephews, Mike Murkowski of Sao Paolo, Brazil, and Brian Murkowski of Anchorage.
