He was born on June 27, 1953, in Ketchikan.
He is survived by his children, Jacque Guthrie-Romero, Harry Romero and Laura Lee Guthrie-Romero-Makua; siblings, Gilbert Romero, Liz Brezner, Jodi Romero, Sue Romero and Rose Hendricks; step-mother, Susan Romero; and cousins and aunts.
