Obituary

Sharon Irene McKinley, 75, died on June 22, 2019, in her home in Ketchikan.

She was born Sharon Irene Lewis on Nov. 17, 1943, in Anacortes, Washington.

At age three, she moved from Anacortes to Ketchikan, where she resided for the rest of her life.

She was married on Aug. 5, 1960, in Ketchikan.

Mrs. McKinley was a member of the Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed poetry and creative writing. Her family writes that she also enjoyed bowling in her younger years; fishing with her husband, Mike; and spending afternoons on their boat together.

Mrs. McKinley is preceded in death by her parents, Don Lewis and Eldora Peterson; stepfather, Ernie Peterson; sister, Diane Banning; husband, Mike McKinley; sister-in-law, Ann Stout; and long-time companion, Jim Branda.

She is survived by her daughters, Angie (Tommy) Behrends, Sandy (Eric) Bergseng and Lynn (Norm) Jarvis; grandchildren, Nicholas Jarvis, Samantha Jarvis and Tanner Bergseng; in-laws, Phil (Julie) McKinley and Charlie Stout; and numerous nephews and nieces.
