Obituary

Billie Alsup Jr., 87, died Sept. 5, 2018, in Ketchikan.

He was born March 19, 1931, in Caruthersville, Missouri. He attended Eugene Bible College in Oregon.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and received an honorable discharge.

Mr. Alsup was married on Dec. 9, 1985.

He retired as chief steward of the Alaska Marine Highway System.

He was a member of the Clover Pass Community Church.

He enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking.

Mr. Alsup was preceded in death by his parents, Billie Alsup Sr. and Sadie Irene Bryson Alsup; and brother, Alvis Alsup.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Alsup; 12 brothers and sisters; 12 children and four step-children; 39 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at the Clover Pass Community Church, followed by a service of committal at Bayview Cemetery. Officiants were the Rev. Jeff White, the Rev. Steve Alsup, Clint McClennan and the Rev. Bill White.
