Jully R. Leland, 78, died Feb. 8, 2018, in Ketchikan.
She was born Jully Dacumos Romo on July 26, 1939, in Negros Oriental, Philippines. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of the East in Manila, Philippines.
She married Kenneth Leland on Feb. 22, 1971, in Arlington, Virginia.
She was employed in the Trust Department of Riggs Bank in Washington, D.C., from 1971 to 1973, the Trust Department of Broward National Bank in Hollywood,?Florida; and by the American Chemical Society from 1974 to 1976. She was a dispatcher with the Airporter Shuttle from 2002 to 2006.
She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Leland was a member of the Catholic church.
She called her flowers her ‘babies,’” her family writes. “Sitnews called them the ‘Leland Gardens.’ She loved her rhodys and azaleas.”
Mrs. Leland was preceded in death by her father, Pelagio Roma; mother, Sinfrosa Dacumos Roma; and sister, Vicenta Rabacal; and son, Jorge Colmenares.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Leland of Ketchikan; sister, Filomena Roma of Ketchikan; brother, Fernando Roma of Federal Way, Washington; daughters, Jane Purvis of Snohomish, Washington, and Michelle Leland of St. Petersburg, Florida; son, Kenneth M. Leland of St. Petersburg; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A service will be at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Holy Name Catholic Church, officiated by the Rev. Pat Travers.
Mrs. Leland’s remains will be interred at Bayview Cemetery.
