Margaret May Wallace, 81, died Aug. 8, 2023, in Ketchikan.

She was born Margaret May Adams on May 10, 1942, in Yakutat. She attended Kake Elementary School and Mount Edgecumbe.

She was married on May 2, 1967 in Ketchikan, to Byron Wallace Sr.

Mrs. Wallace was a homemaker, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed reading, playing bingo and pull tabs.

"She loved Elvis and the colors purple and orange," her family said.

She was a member of The Salvation Army

She also was a member of Kake ANB/ANS.

Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Wallace Sr.; mother, May Adams; father, Henry Adams; brothers, Stanley, Tucker, Henry, Thomas, Matthew and Johnny Boy Adams; sister, Margarite Adams; and a child, Joni Lee Wallace.

She is survived by her children: Darryl Wallace, Monica Wallace, Carrie (Tom) Denny, Byron Wallace Jr., all of Ketchikan; brothers, Peter (Stephanie) Adams of Saanich, British Columbia, Clifford Adams of Kake, Harlan Adams of Sitka; sister, Mary Williams of Kake; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
