Gladys Marlene Klose, 94, died April 9, 2018, at the Ketchikan Pioneer Home.
She was born Gladys Iverson on Sept. 4, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended Charcoal Point Grade School and graduated from Ketchikan High School at Main School.
She resided in Ketchikan for most of her 94 years, and retired from the Alaska Court System as a court clerk in 1990.
Mrs. Klose was a member of the Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the Pioneers of Alaska and Sons of Norway.
She enjoyed photography and gardening.
“She was always taking pictures and sharing them with people,” her family writes.
Mrs. Klose was preceded in death by her father, Arne Iversen; mother, Anna Iversen; and brother, Roger Iversen.
She is survived by her son, Kurtis (Pamela) Klose of Ketchikan; grandchildren, Devin, Kassandra, Daniel and Natalie Klose, and Caitlin Stephens, all of Ketchikan; great-granddaughter, Avery Stephens of Ketchikan; brother, Arne Iversen of Oregon; sisters, Irene Nichols of Ketchikan and Judy Butler of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018, in the Great Room of the Ketchikan Pioneer Home.
Mrs. Klose’s remains will be cremated, and will be interred at Bayview Cemetery next to her parents.
