Timothy Wayne Brown, 53, died Dec. 27 in Ketchikan.

He was born on April 22, 1964, in Paulding County, Ohio.

He grew up in Ohio, and later lived in Oklahoma and Texas, working in both the automotive field and as an oil driller before moving to Ketchikan.

In Ketchikan, he worked as a mechanic at Coastal Tire and Shaub-Ellison Tire Company, and worked at Lighthouse Service, and later owned his own business, Southeast Automotive and Tire.

He was an avid Nascar fan, and enjoyed anything to do with cars and mechanics.

“Tim had a kind, loving heart and would lend a hand where possible,” his family writes. “In his last weeks, Tim accepted Jesus into his life and we are all looking forward to seeing him again in heaven.”

Timothy Brown was preceded in death by his father, Roger Brown; mother, Ruth Dodson; sister, Kathy Roberts; brother, Mike Brown; nephew, Nathan Roberts; niece, Kacy Roberts; and niece, Taylor Tumblin.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Bersvendsen; sister, Kelly (Roger) Tumblin; sister-in-law, Stacy Brown; mother-in-law, Joanne (Bill) Alsup; brothers-in-law, Mike (Kim) Svenson, Axel (Kathleen) Svenson, and Martin (Darlene) Svenson; nephews and nieces, Michelle Porter (Gary Logan) and their daughter Layla Logan; Mitchell Porter; Cody (Lourdena) Roberts and their sons, William and Jake; Axel Svenson, Mike Svenson, Nels Svenson, Rosemary Svenson and Leif Svenson.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Jan. 6 at Clover Pass Community Church, with Pastor Jack Cranford and Clint McClennan officiating. A burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
