Helen Blanche Peterson, 70, died Aug. 11, 2018, in Saxman.

She was born Helen Blanch Edenshaw on Feb. 10, 1948, in Ketchikan.

She attended Chemewa Indian School.

She was married on Nov. 4, 1979, in Ketchikan. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Peterson resided in Hydaburg, Ketchikan and Saxman.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and the Alaska Native Sisterhood.

She enjoyed bingo, cooking and spending time with loved ones and friends.

Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her spouse, Donald Peterson; parents, James Edenshaw and Bertha Lee Charles; stepfather, Norman Charles; brothers, Arnold, Alvin, William, Gerald, Marvin, Verne and Elroy; and sisters, Romay, Carolyn and Delores.

She is survived by her sister, Roberta (David) Hull; children, Romay Edenshaw, George Shayen, Arthur (April) Shayen, Delores Peterson and Steven (Jacqueline) Peterson; grandchildren, Kayla, Shania, Ethan, Romay, Derrick, David, Taan, Savannah, Jayde, Jeffery, Tamara, Louise, Arnold, Anne, Ashley, Cessie, Ben, Sonja and Darius; and great-grandchildren, Rhiannon and Princeton.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at the Red Hall in Saxman, officiated by the Rev. Jeff White.

Mrs. Peterson’s remains will be intered at Bayview Cemetery.
