Obituary

Roberta Ann Treat passed on April 14,2022. She was known as Bobbi to all that loved her. She began her journey that day guided by those that traveled before her.

Bobbi was predeceased by her maternal grandmother Molly Jones, mother Loreen Jones, father Robert Beck, two younger brothers Walter and Charlie, niece Melissa, nephew Robert and precious grandson Jaxson.

She leaves behind four brothers Donny, Kenny, Michael and Sam, four sisters Jennie, Donna, Cindy and Melissa.

Bobbi is survived by all her children Ken, Brandon and Jennifer, her grandchildren Raven, Bear and Gabrielle, and many more nieces and nephews.

Bobbi graduated from Ketchikan High School in 1969. She went on to become not only the first woman but the first Native American woman in Alaska to become a journeymen Wireman for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in the 1970s. This while raising three children by herself. She even worked on the pipeline with all the extreme conditions.

In the 1980’s she went on to graduate from the Charter College in Anchorage Alaska in financial management.

Bobbi was the Financial manager for Chief Leshai High School for Native Americans in the 1990’s. In 2000 she was General Ledger and Contracts accountant for Northwest Portland Area Indian Health. She finished off her career at Ketchikan Indian Health as their Financial Controller.

Once Bobbi retired She was able to focus on her passion for beading. She also spent time helping raise her youngest grandson Jaxson Brown.

She was the best big sister and surrogate mother to her siblings. Selflessness and generosity were a big part of who she was. Bobby was one of a kind and to have been loved by her was to be truly blessed.
